Kerala Adventure-Ponmudi Experience

What is Irony?
Ans-When an opthalmologist resident gets Viral Conjunctivitis.
There you go i said it!

Its been on since yesterday morning and i thought it was all in my imagination but today it is full blown and my tiny eyes just got tinier (Yes,it is possible lol)
Mild grade fever, loneliness, boredom, irritability, laziness, hunger all put into this petite body of mine.
This must be a punishment for all the times i silently wondered about my patients "How do soooooo many people get conjunctivitis every single day!!"
And God was like "Here you go little whiny one,get a taste of your own medicine!"
Did i tell you i hate going to the doctor?
I guess that is no surprise- everyone hates going to the doctor.

Anyway, here i am sitting and typing away probably infecting everything i touch and even the air around me lol
FREE HUGS ANYONE? :p

This is my second Kerela Travelogue post.
You can read about the First one HERE "VARKALA adventure"
Visited Ponmudi
- a hill station in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala in India
. Its located 55.2 km north-east of Trivandrum city ie about 3 hours by car if you drive as slow as me :p at an altitude of 1100 m.
It is a part of the Western Ghats mountain range that runs parallel to the Arabian Sea.
I won't exactly call it a hill station because there is only one place to stay run by KTDC.
There is no civilisation other than the resort around that place.
No reception except for airtel and bsnl.
Couple of houses now and then along the road but don't expect a gas station or fancy restaurants.
Fill the gas tank well and don't forget your camera.
It is the perfect getaway when you need a break from all the hustles and bustles of city life.
You can go trekking, just get lost in nature, enjoy the breathe taking views, feel the biting breeze against your cheeks and simply let it go.
The single road terminates at the KTDC resort so you can't get lost even if you want to lol.
Each room is a cozy cottage-comes in all sizes(for families too).
The food is kind of bleh and they had only chicken or veg biryani for lunch in the restaurant.
Breakfast is a buffet and better than lunch- cornflakes, idli, sambhar, bread, butter, tea, coffee, juice etc.
It gets really chilly up there and boy am i glad i carried my jacket.
More exciting than actually staying at the resort is the drive - the roads can be bit risky at night with sharp turns that will probably send us hurtling down the hills .
Random mini waterfalls by the roadside ,lots of lush green trees, coconuts ,bananas etc.
The Kallar river runs peacefully along a part of the road and the sound of the water is so soothing.
Had to stop there for a while and enjoy the silence of the hills broken by the bubbling water.
You can go in the morning and come back by evening.
It will be more fun if you go in groups, pack your trekking gears and venture into the wilderness :)
I am the potato couch kind who will stand and watch from a distance lol
so no trekking for me unless i'm really pumped up.
The trip was refreshing and for those who think Kerela is all about beaches and backwaters-hold it there because she also has some beautiful hilly places you can visit.
Hope to cross them off from my To-Visit list one at a time and tell you all about it on my blog.
This song has been playing non stop in my head

She said "hello mister, pleased to meet ya"
I wanna hold her, I wanna kiss her
She smelled of daisies, she smelled of daisies
She drive me crazy, she drive me crazy

Angus and Julia stone
"Big Jet Plane"
Do check them out on YouTube.
What i'm wearing
Top- Zara
Studded Jacket-Promod
Pants-Zara
Ballerina shoes-Steve Madden

Yes,i am still alive and please don't forget me :p
The visit was a couple of weeks back but i never got the time or energy to blog about it.
Well since i am jobless today (being infectious and all) no hospital work, thought i will put this up asap.
Until the next time we meet again,
Hugs,
Zan
